Gary Valenciano to Perform at Dinner Concert in KL

15 September 2016 - Filipino artist Gary Valenciano will delight Filipino and Malaysian fans and music lovers in Kuala Lumpur as he is scheduled to perform at a dinner-concert for the benefit of alternative learning programs for children on September 30 at the Aloft Hotel Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

“It is with great pride that one of the Philippines’ finest talents will grace the Kuala Lumpur stage. We thank him and his management for coming over for a worthy cause,” event chairperson Puan Sri Sylvia Merican said.

The event is spearheaded by a volunteer committee chaired by Puan Sri Sylvia and her husband, Tan Sri Othman Merican, in collaboration with the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. Sponsors for the event include Alloy MTD Group, IREKA Group, and Advance Tertiary College. Other key supporters include Tan Sri Othman and Puan Sri Sylvia, Entogenex Industries Sdn Bhd, Dato’ Timothy Gan and Datin Sharon Too.

Known as “Mr. Pure Energy,” Mr. Valenciano is expected to perform his chart-topping songs and showcase his talent for the guests during the benefit dinner-concert. The multi-talented musician, singer-songwriter, actor, producer and dancer built one of the most notable and long-standing recording careers in the Philippine music landscape which spans 33 years. To date he has released over 32 albums in the Philippines and internationally.

During the program, he is expected to sing many of his notable compositions including “Take Me Out of the Dark,” “Sana Maulit Muli,” “Shout for Joy,” and “Di Bale Na Lang".

Renowned for songs that both lyrically and musically appeal to a wide range of audiences, and over several generations, Mr. Valenciano is also a UNICEF Ambassador of Goodwill and is deeply committed to promoting the well-being, good health, education and safety of children.

Aside from his mastery in music, Mr. Valenciano is also cited for his signature high-energy concerts. Gary V has performed with some of the most respected global singers including Brian McKnight, Kool and The Gang, Cliff Richard, and George Duke. He has toured extensively in Asia, Europe and America, and held concerts in over 20 countries.

Mr. Valenciano is a multi-awarded musician with 12 trophies from the Philippine Awit Awards for Best Male Recording Artist and hundreds of awards and nominations.
