Architect Bart Vista to Lead KL Filipino Business Group

The incoming Chairperson of the Filipino Businessman and Professionals Caucus (FBPC) is Architect Bart Vista of ABBV+A Architects. This was announced by incumbent FBPC Chairperson Jimson Mathew Dator, of PLDT Malaysia, at a meeting-networking mixer on March 8 at the Embassy’s Vista Community Hall.

Outgoing Ambassador J. Eduardo Malaya thanked the FBPC for having been a key partner of the Embassy in its activities and initiatives since its establishment in 2014. He also expressed the hope that the organization and its members could continue to grow.

Ambassador Malaya further noted the increasing presence of Philippines businesses and professionals in Malaysia, adding that there is much to be glad about current developments in the Philippines. “The increasing number of Philippine companies doing business in Malaysia is a reflection of the robustness of the Philippine economy,” Ambassador Malaysia said.

The attendees were given a briefing by Embassy Trade Attache Rosa Katrina Banzon on the current Philippine economic situation, as well as the launching of Philippine Airlines (PAL) in Malaysia, which will fly the Manila-Kuala Lumpur route starting June 2017.

Among the companies represented were Petron Fuel International Sdn Bhd, LBC Mabuhay, Techway Engineering Sdn Bhd, Stanford Properties Sdn Bhd, La Juiceria, Tres Marias, Laguna Restaurant, The Narra Restaurant, Axezorize Sdn Bhd, Pacific World Travel (representing PAL), as well as theater actress Maria Jaszmine and television personality Julia Clarete.

The FBPC consists of a group of Filipino businessmen, entrepreneurs, key managers and professionals of Malaysian companies and institutions and top executives of Philippine corporations doing business in Malaysia.

It was organized in June 2014 to facilitate the growth of Filipino business and the betterment of Filipino professionals in Malaysia.
