9 May 2017—After his arrival to assume his post as the Philippine's envoy to Malaysia, Ambassador Charles C. Jose took the chance to meet with the members of the Filipino community in an afternoon reception held on May 7 at the Embassy grounds.

Around 120 Filipino members of the Filipino community composed of officers and representatives of the member-organizations of the Federation of Filipino Associations in Malaysia, Filipino businessmen and professionals and Filipino residents in Malaysia were on hand to meet the Ambassador.

"I was told that the Filipino community members in Malaysia are cooperative and very supportive of the Embassy. We hope to continue working with all of you in the various initiatives and activities by the Embassy, starting with our National Day events which will kick off next week," he said.

Ambassador Jose also encouraged the Filipino community members to continue to display the finest qualities of the Filipino—that of excellence, integrity and hard work, in order to leave a positive impression in the places of work and residence.

The Ambassador and Madame Maria Victoria Jose also mingled with the guests, posing for photos with them and also briefed on the initiatives and activities of the community.
