GUIDELINES FOR TRAVEL TO THE PHILIPPINES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC:

[Last Updated on 17 May 2021 based on Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) Resolution Nos. 97, 98, 99-A, 100, 103, and 115 Series of 2021, and Memorandum from the Executive Secretary dated 14 May 2021]

The Embassy informs the public of the following guidelines and requirements for travel to the Philippines:

1) WHO ARE ALLOWED ENTRY?

Pursuant to a directive from the IATF-MEID, Filipino citizens, whether a returning Overseas Filipino or an Overseas Filipino Worker, shall be allowed to return to the Philippines.

This is without prejudice to immigration laws, rules and regulations, such that the Commissioner of Immigration shall have the exclusive prerogative to decide on waiver or recall of exclusion orders for all foreign nationals authorized entry under relevant IATF resolutions, subject to regular reporting to the IATF Secretariat at the end of each calendar month.

The arrival of Filipinos and exempted foreign nationals within the covered period shall be subject to the arrival quota set by the Department of Transportation (DOTr). Those with confirmed flight bookings falling within the covered period are advised to coordinate directly with their airlines for possible effect of the arrival quota on their itinerary.

 2) WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS UPON ARRIVAL?

Pursuant to Philippine Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Resolution No. 114, series of 2021, the Philippines imposes the following new testing and quarantine protocols effective 08 May 2021:

All international arrivals, including foreign nationals (except for Section 9(e) visa holders), shall present a pre- booked accommodation for at least six (6) nights in an accredited quarantine hotel/facility at the Immigration counters for initial check.

Those who fail to present a pre-booked accommodation shall be denied entry and shall be boarded immediately in the next available flight.

The initial check performed by Immigration authorities shall not in any way interfere with the Department of Tourism's exclusive jurisdiction on the final validation and confirmation of pre-booked accommodation in an accredited quarantine hotel/facility.

All foreign nationals who were cleared for entry but subsequently found to have presented a counterfeit or fraudulent pre-booked accommodation in an accredited quarantine hotel/facility by the Department of Tourism shall be referred to the Bureau of Immigration for deportation proceedings.
